Interests: Macintosh Computers |

“What does it say about an operating system (Windows OS) that requires thousands of books as big as telephone directories to tell the user how to operate it (an engineering degree would be helpful, too), and the top selling software titles are either anti-virus or crash recovery programs?" —Doug Kelsey |

I've worked with both PCs and Macs. In my office I had both platforms. The hired help would fight over who would get to use the Macs while the PCs collected dust. I don't know how in the world intelligent, rational, and coherent people are duped into thinking Windows is as good or better than a Mac. Explaining the difference to a PC user is like trying to describe the color blue to a blind man. You never read stories about Mac crashes, tech support nightmares, incompatibility problems, installation headaches, and days of work just to get the darn thing to work. If Macs were to disappear, it would send a chill up my spine at the thought of lowering my standards to the cheesiness of a PC. Yeah, PCs are cheaper, but in the computing world, you get what you pay for. If you want the really good stuff, you have to pay for it...and Macs are worth it. Besides, by the time you throw in the requisite therapist and support groups, PCs are way more expensive! |
Subaru, BMW, Volvo, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Lexus all have less market share in the automobile market than Apple has in the computer market yet you don't read stories about any of these car makers going out of business like you do about Apple. What makes Apple outlast Packard Bell, NEC, Digital, Compaq, and other PC industry giants that have disappeared? Apple is profitable because they make a superior product. |

While using both platforms, I developed a list of words that describes my experiences with each: Windows/Intel: frustrating, irritating, humiliating, cumbersome, complex, disappointing, uptight, misery, cheap, agitating, ugly, conflicts, buggy, cantankerous, time consuming, absence of innovation, and "plug and pray." Macs: simplicity, elegant, fun, easy, fulfilling, innovative, powerful, productive, impressive, visionary, personality, quality, intuitive, exciting, creative, and "plug and play." |

I have been using Apple computers since I bought an Apple II in 1984. My first Macintosh was a Mac II purchased in 1988. I'm currently using a Powerbook G4/1ghz running OS X (10.2 Jaguar)...and it works great! |
My favorite Macintosh expression: "If you had a Mac, you wouldn't have those problems." |

"Never ask a man what kind of computer he drives. If it's a Mac, he'll tell you. If not, why embarrass him?" —Tom Clancy |
